Q: Do I need a permit for my dumpster?

A: In general, most cities do not require a permit to place a container on private property. Some cities do require permits for placement in the street or right of way. Permits can be obtained from your city building department or public works department. It is the customers responsibility for obtaining a permit if required.

Q: What items can not go into my dumpster?

A: The following items are prohibited in all containers:

• hazardous waste,
• flammable liquids
• wet paint (all paint must be dried. We suggest using kitty litter)
• aerosol cans
• propane tanks
• tires
• medical waste or medications
• asbestos
• all liquids including, but not limited to: oils, antifreeze, chemical products, fertilizers
• hardfill materials, unless in a designated container(dirt, brick, block, concrete, or asphalt)

Q: What size dumpster do I need?

A: If you are unsure of the proper size for your project, please refer to container sizes with helpful suggestions for each size container. If you are still unsure, contact one of our customer service representatives and we will help match you with the right sized container for your project.

Q: How do you open the door on the dumpster?

A: We have attached video examples of how to open and close different container doors.

Q: What to do if someone else fills my container?

A: Contents of container are the customers responsibility while in their possession. Customer is responsible for ensuring container remains level and free of prohibited items.

Q: Can I cancel my container?

A: All orders must be cancelled 24 hours prior to delivery for a full refund. Dale’s must confirm cancellation. Orders cancelled same day will incur a $25 cancellation fee if the container is not already in route. If a container is already in route or refused at delivery, customer will incur a $125 dry run fee.

Q: Why can’t I schedule a delivery time?

A: Due to the nature of the work, we are unable to schedule specific delivery times. Factors such as inclement weather, traffic, landfill wait time, and unforeseen issues with previous loads can all affect delivery times. We will do our best to honor your AM or PM requests, but we are unfortunately unable to guarantee delivery times.

Q: Is there a weight limit for my container?

A: Yes, there is an overweight fee of $47.50 per ton over weight limit.
